A Calling From The East Back To Our Roots

Bringing together styles from all over the East, South Korea, China, and Japan – we look at designers Yunseon Kim and Carmen Liu’s senior collection photographed by Elliot Alexander at the San Francisco Japenese Tea Garden. Inspired by Hanbok, Kim looked to recreate the silohuettes onto her garments. Using a structure system similiar to ones found in the traditional dress, Kim referenced Liu’s bubble style jewelry pieces to beautifully offset the imposing structure.

Both Kim and Liu showed their collection for the world to see at the Academy of Art University graduate fashion show last May. We are living for the outcome of this shoot.
