Quietness By Ignacio Umana Brings You To A Solitary State Of Mind

He decided to
shoot the project with a large format camera with 4×5 color film, which
tuned in with the overall concept of the project of slowing down to
achieve an inner balance and quietness. Ignacio took only one photo
every time he went to Ocean Beach, always from the exact same position
37º45’31’’ N – 122º30’39’’ W – and
maintaining the horizon line in the middle. All the images of the
project are long exposures given by the time it took him to achieve
calmness during the day of the shot. The whole of the images can be seen
as a typology of his experiences of calmness and also interpreted as
self portraits of his states of mind each day.

And after this Presidential election, we could all use some calmness, no?
