Remember when Rachel Ray popularized the term “EVOO” for “Extra Virgin Olive Oil”? Well, now you can get your “EVOO” with a little hit of cannabis.

The folks at Pot’d Hulie are dead-set on making you never look at vinaigrettes or bread dippings the same way again. In the past decade, we’ve seen an explosion around the acceptance of marijuana consumption, evolving from what was once thought of as a satanic, taboo-like ritual, into what’s now considered an industry-creating and medicinally backed practice. (Especially here in Northern California.) And, finally, cannabis is about to expand its edible empire, courtesy of a little drizzle of EVOO.

The byproduct of an accountant and biochemist, Yannick Crespo and Allison Bordsen, these two revolutionaries set-out to create a yet-seen pot product: a cannabis-infused extra virgin olive oil that was not only neutral and full-bodied in flavor, but also dosage specific.

Milk and cannabis really mix.Milk and cannabis really mix.

Milk and cannabis really mix.

Dosage inconsistency in the current cannabis space is rampant, and we wanted to develop a sophisticated product to combat that issue – one that provided a safe, easy and consistent solution for dosage control,” explains Crespo.

And he couldn’t be more right.

(I can vividly recall once sharing a cannabis-infused dinner experience with a group of friends of mine. While some of us were left unfazed and completely sober by all accounts, others—like myself—couldn’t discern our left shoe from our right when the night had come to a dizzyingly high end.)

“We also noticed a lack of luxury in the market, and wanted to create a brand that would appeal to epicureans and those with truly sophisticated palates. PdH [the official name of their cannabis-infused oil] would be at home on the shelf next to any premium extra virgin olive oil brand.”

// On sale beginning in April of this year, Pot d’Huilie’s “PdH” can be bought in a few select grocery stories or one their online retail store for between $50 and $140, depending on bottle size.

We’ll be waiting with bated breath for our “pot-luck” dinner invitations.

This could be you. This could be you.

This could be you.
