If you haven’t noticed, you’re right in the middle of Pesach (i.e Passover.) That’s an important Jewish holiday. Starting since April. 10th, Wise Sons Deli is our main Passover menu. Duh.
A Jewish delicacy shared during Passover, the matzo ball soup is agreed by the fresh faces in the kitchen, the soup at Wise Sons Deli is authentic Jewish cuisine—the kind your bubbe used to make. What you can expect from this soup is a rich and well flavored broth, with extra dimension from lots of fresh herbs and seasonings flavored day of. Fresh cut carrots, hefty pieces of torn chicken meat, and not too many thin noodles can also be found. However, the balls are the best part: one ball per bowl and larger (bigger is not better when it comes to matzo balls), but the matzo still has the density and bite of its smaller counterparts.

No matter who you are, once you sit down at a Passover table, you’re no longer a stranger. It’s a holiday that helps us remember and build our community. Jews were refugees, we walked the desert for 40 years, and during Passover we tell that story — we dip the parsley in salt water, we taste the bitter herb in reverence and respect for those enslaved, and because in remembering we hope to prevent history repeating itself. Something that is especially important now.”
