It’s that time of the year again where Bay Area temperatures drop, Karl The Fog seems to put on his winter coat, and books seemingly fly off the shelves.
Nobody can put together a gargantuan book sale quite like the SFPL (San Francisco Public Library). With over 500,000 titles priced three dollars or less, the Big Book Sale is the perfect excuse to head to the Marina this weekend—as if you needed one.
This year marks the 53rd annual Big Book Sale, meaning it’s been a staple of the San Francisco scene for awhile. Whether you’re into history, art, fiction, photography, or otherwise, the largest used book sale on the west coast is bound to have some titles that suit you. And if you get a little carried away, don’t worry; large red shopping carts are offered to assist you in lugging around your literary haul.
Other media such as audiobooks and vinyl records will also be sold at this unbeatable price, too.
Prices drop to one dollar on Sunday, with all the proceeds of the Big Book Sale benefiting the public library. Consider your weekend booked…pun intended.
