If you wanted to walk through a winter wonderland and benefit those in need, we feel ten times more in the holiday spirit devouring this new delight by Fenton’s Creamery.
Yes, it looks like a complete mouthful but hear us out, Fenton’s Creamery has gone the extra mile to create a special sundae that benefits a local organization; this month, a portion of the proceeds go to the Alameda County Community Food Bank. Isn’t that what the holidays are all about anyhow?
For over 30 years, the Alameda County Community Food Bank has stood by their unwavering belief that food is a basic human right. They distribute millions of healthy meals every year, and are on the forefront of new approaches to ending hunger and poverty. They’re committed to creating a healthy, prosperous and just community; invite you to read their Equity & Inclusion Statement. It’s lengthy but really does clear up food-and-money-donation mysticism.
The name of this concoction, you may ask? Peppermint Joy! The sundae, which is available through December, features peppermint ice cream and Dutch chocolate ice cream covered with house made hot fudge, fresh whipped cream, a cherry, and a house made piece of peppermint bark! Holy mother of yum, we can’t stay silent on this night.
Again, only available through the end of December, we think this treat is great for an after dinner special.
