Rain, Rain, Go Away—An Oddly Wet Weekend Guide

We thought we had a deal with Mother Nature, where it became April and didn’t see cloudy skies again ‘till pumpkin spice latte season.

That deal may be off, but there’s plenty to do this weekend, so let’s hop to it and have so much fun that the weekend feels don’t even wear off until the middle of Monday.

Burn calories so the beer won’t count

When: Saturday, April 7th, 10 A.M. – 1 P.M.

Where: lululemon Cow Hollow

Why: Make your way by foot to Studiomix on Van Ness and Geary for a fitness checkpoint. From there, you’ll haul ass down to Anchor Public Taps in Potrero Hill. Will you have to follow traffic laws? Technically, but don’t let that detract from the fact that there’s beer at the finish. Check-in starts at 10 A.M.; race begins at 11. Each runner will receive a tech tee, slap bracelet, and free beer with snacks and Hint Water at the finish line. 10% of every entry will go to KEEN SF, a non-profit organization that empowers youth with disabilities. // 1981 Union Street, Marina, tickets are $40 here.

It’s that damn Mozart, he’s so hot right now

When: Friday, April 6th, and Saturday, April 7th, at 8 P.M.

Where: Davies Symphony Hall

Why: You may have never known that the Mozart Amadeus your great great great great great grandparents knew and loved was actually a punk ass prodigy who disrupted (in a good way) the music scene in Vienna awhile back. He was actually kinda relatable, and naturally his music makes for the perfect San Francisco Symphony performance. The film Amadeus won eight Academy Awards, including Best Picture. // 201 Van Ness Avenue, Hayes Valley, tickets here.

Studies indicate that croissants are the bomb dot com

When: Sunday, April 8th, 12 P.M. – 3 P.M.

Where: Le Colonial, San Francisco

Why: Worst case scenario, you’ll get to say you ate a lot of croissants this weekend – and that is a really damn good worst case scenario. The finest bakeries in the Bay Area will compete for the title of Best Croissant in San Francisco. As an attendee, you’ll get to sample the goods with a selection of jam, tea, coffee, and complimentary wine. Yes, you get to vote. You got the power and the carbs. // 20 Cosmo Place, tickets here
