May played us hot and cold, but welcome to June! Celebrate by eating all the donuts and getting a selfie with Tony Bennett. If you succeed at the latter, hashtag us on Insta #bobcutmag P.S. don’t forget to cast your votes in next week’s election! If not for you, then for the kids. They’re the future and all.
When: Friday, June 1st during business hours
Why: National. Donut. Day. Wash down last weekend’s BBQ with free donuts, courtesy of Krispy Kreme. All participating locations will be doling out a free donut to anyone who walks in, no purchase necessary. We donut know why anyone would diet.
Party with Tony Bennett
When: Saturday, June 2nd, starting at noon
Where: Fairmont San Francisco
Why: The guy who sings your grandparents’ favorite slow dance song, I Left My Heart in San Francisco, is finally getting a street named after him. Tony Bennett is unveiling his street sign at 2 P.M., but the block party will extend beyond that time. An interactive “heart salute” to Mr. Bennett will take place at 1:15. Dianne Feinstein, Willie Brown, and Nancy Pelosi are all crashing the party (and so can you!). // 950 Mason Street, admission is free.
Do you wanna build a…sand castle?
When: Saturday, June 2nd, 9 A.M. – 2 P.M.
Where: Robert Crown Memorial State Beach Park, Alameda
Why: Bring your A-game, a bucket, and a shovel to Robert Crown Memorial State Beach on Sunday, because there’s a sand castle and sand sculpture contest going down. This is a legit contest with judges, an award ceremony and some pretty rigid-looking rules. // Otis & Westline Drive, Alameda.
