Boy, have we got a loaded weekend for you. For starters, there’s pride.
Experience an SF classic
When: Sunday, June 24th, 10:30 A.M. – 6 P.M.
Where: Market Street, San Francisco
Why: Because you haven’t been seeing all those rainbow flags for nothing! If this is your first year in the Bay Area (or if it isn’t), get your ass glittered up and down to the Civic Center for the 48th annual Pride parade. It’s the largest gathering of the LGBT communities and allies in the country. There will be more than 20 community-run stages and venues, and over 200 parade exhibitors.
One tequila, two tequila, three tequila, floor!
When: Friday, June 22nd, 6 P.M. – 9 P.M.
Where: Fairmont San Francisco
Why: Tequila and classiness don’t generally hang out together, but the Fairmont is putting its pinkies-up, rooftop spin on everybody’s favorite crazy-night-out liquor. Lawn games and light bites will accompany the star of the show—agave and mezcal. Most important detail: it’s an open bar. Cheers, betch. // 950 Mason Street, tickets are $70 here.
On a boat like Leo
When: Saturday, June 23rd, 11 A.M. – 5 P.M.
Where: Encinal Yacht Club, Alameda
Why: If you want to humblebrag that you were at a yacht club this weekend, hit up the Encinal Yacht Club in Alameda for their 2018 Summer Sailstice. Yes, the name is that effing clever. You’ll get to hang out in a sail boat for free, and you can also stick around for an amateur cardboard boat building contest that will culminate in a race. Live music, food and beverages will all be present. Nobody likes a hangry sailor. // 1251 Pacific Marina, Alameda, admission is free, schedule here.
Ice cream, Lieutenant Dan!
When: Saturday, June 23rd, 11 A.M. – 4 P.M.
Where: Bank of the West at Burrows (Parking lot)
Why: Summertime means ice cream eating contests, no debates. Enjoy an open air market and ice cream eating contest this Saturday at 1 P.M. There will also be happy hour beer prices and “community love,” so if somehow you weren’t sold at ice cream, be there or be the squarest of them all. // 2675 San Bruno Avenue, San Francisco, admission is free, register for the ice cream eating contest at churn.com.
