Off The Menu: Picnic’ing with Class at Provenance Vineyards

A new mural by San Francisco’s own artist Heather Day now graces the 30×50 foot exterior wall of Provenance Vineyard’s tasting room.

To celebrate and showcase the debut of their new breathtakingly large mural, which wraps the exterior in bold abstractions that both take inspiration from and compliment the natural surrounding terrain, Provenance Vineyards is introducing the program “Rent-A-Picnic”. For a limited run time of 3 months between August 25th, 2018 and November 25th, 2018, guests have the opportunity to purchase a nearly all-inclusive outdoor picnic experience for $50.

You will need to pack your own favorite picnic snacks, but Provenance takes care of the rest. Included in the bundle is a rented picnic blanket, a designated space to enjoy the view, and a bounty of wines to pair with your self-procured bites. As an added bonus, guests will receive a cheese board, cheese knives, wine glasses, and a tote bag to keep.

But as for this gorgeous mural that now lines the walls of the vineyard, we adore Heather Day. This San Francisco-based artist is known for her abstract paintings, adorned with striking colors, emphatic strokes and rhythmic marks. She creates profound pieces that speak to her sensory interpretations of her surroundings. The mural itself is very much inspired by the history of the surrounding valley, as much as the origin story of Provenance Vineyards.

Partnering with Provenance in this special offer is Creativity Explored, the first San Franciscan visual art nonprofit dedicated to providing instruction, supplies, and a professional platform for artists with developmental disabilities. Provenance pledges to donate 25% of all proceeds made through Rent-A-Picnic to Creativity Explored’s mission.
