A day unknown to some, but a celebration of freedom and spirit to most—4/20, April 20th is a dedication to cannabis.
The popularization of 4/20 now extends borders, reaching parts of the world unknown. But on this day, in true Bob Cut Mag style, we celebrate the trailblazers of cannabis and those
forgotten in the wake of legalization. A balance that any industry must recognize and widely accept.
The most credible story traces 4/20 to Marin County. In 1971, five students at San Rafael High School would
meet at 4:20 p.m. by the campus’ statue of chemist Louis Pasteur to partake. They chose that specific time because extracurricular activities had usually ended by then. This group—Steve Capper, Dave Reddix, Jeffrey Noel, Larry Schwartz, and Mark Gravich—became known as the “ Waldos” because they met at a wall. They would say “420” to each other as code for marijuana.
So become a ‘Waldo’ and read the 31 local Bay Area brands that we editors love and recommend. We’ve divided this list into 5 sections for your reading pleasure. 1.) edibles: everything you can eat, get lit, and even cook with. 2.) topicals: your body needs a good rub down and luckily these topicals do just the trick. CBD, THC, everything, baby. 3.) accessories: every cannasseur needs their go-to pipe or conceal of choice. These makers are your first stop to toking with style. 4.) dispensaries: support the local home-grown businesses that now offer curbside, delivery, and/or pick-up. 5.) delivery dedicated services: unlike having a storefront, these delivery services will round-up all your choosings and deliver it in one neatly wrapped gift.
Celebrate 4/20 with great litness—you’ll need it.

So we report on makers all the time, some who do very cool things in the Bay Area. Summerland, however, is taking our ceramics cake with their VERY chic all white water bongs. We first discovered these artistically sound bong friends at Westcoast Craft Fair — hoards of people rummaged their booth and we couldn’t even get close enough to pick one up. The design factor of this particular toking accessory would be hands down the all white facade, minimalists—it’s your time to rejoice. Summerland is best described as a lost hideaway for sun-seekers, wave worshipers and coastal daydreamers.
The Chongo (their most popular model) is nothing super revolutionary in design – you’re not looking at the next trend in bong design and that’s what makes it fantastic; it’s instantly recognizable but an updated version—like your childhood home with new tiling. It’s pure white, ceramic design became an instant hit with design enthusiasts and stoners alike. All Summerland pieces come with high-grade silicone grommets that are super easy to clean. The Chongo is minimal, sleek, and deserves a place on your shelf. // welcometosummer.land
