Eventbrite is an event creation and ticket tool that allows people to customize their event pages and even sell tickets from their website if they want to host their virtual or physical events. Selling on Eventbrite provides access to a community, boost your event and even allow access to webinars and livestreams to online lectures and workshops.

PayPal, on the other hand, is a payment and money transfer service that helps you send money and pay for things online. Fortunately, Eventbrite does take payments via PayPal or Eventbrite Payment Processing.

The default payment is through Eventbrite Payment Processing but certain countries and currencies are restricted from making payment which is where PayPal comes in. PayPal accepts cash and even checks by setting up payment options offline as well as online payment. Even though it can take a few days for the money to reflect in your account if you are a seller, PayPal does deduct the money from the person who purchased the ticket immediately.

If you are yet to integrate your PayPal to your Eventbrite, here are some of the ways you can do so and receive payments internationally from different countries and currencies. Let us take a look.

Ways to integrate your PayPal to your Eventbrite:

  1. Have a PayPal Business Account

To allow a seamless payment of your PayPal checkouts on Eventbrite ensure you have a Business Account on PayPal to easily manage payments.

  1. Things to Do Before Making the Switch

Certain features will become unavailable once you start accepting payments via PayPal. Before making the switch, ensure you don’t need the following features:

  • Simple registration process
  • Reserved seating
  • Registration transfers
  • Pass on all fees to your attendees
  • You will no longer be able to accept card payments using the Eventbrite Organizer app but cash payments can still be made.
  • Eventbrite Music: PayPal is not supported.

Change or update your payment option

On your event’s dashboard on Eventbrite which can be accessed through Manage Events, go to Payment and Tax then click on Payment Options which you need to put in your country and currency. If your country and currency do not match the Eventbrite Payment Processing then the PayPal field will immediately pop up. If they do match but you would rather use PayPal, you should click on the switch to PayPal so PayPal becomes your mode of payment.

The next step is to enter your PayPal account email address (this is the email address you registered with PayPal). After entering your email address, click on the Save button to confirm the changes.

Switch on Express Checkout

Make sure the attendees can check out from your event as guests. This allows them to check out without being redirected to log in to their PayPal account or sign up to create an account so they can make a purchase.

This change needs to be done in PayPal, click on your profile then go to settings, select my selling tools then click update which can be found next to website preferences. Set it to PayPal Account Optional. Then click Save.

Check PayPal For Ticket Sales

Log into your PayPal account to access your funds as sales from your tickets go directly into your PayPal. However, Eventbrite collects a service fee which can be added to each attendees’ ticket price. An invoice will be sent to you by Eventbrite every first of the month which is only applicable to all the orders of the month before.

Pay and Review Your Invoice

The invoice sent on the first day of the month is due for payment on or before 30 days from the date it was sent to you. Eventbrite will send reminder emails if you have not paid and the 30 days are approaching. Failure to pay on time will result in the suspension of your account. After you have paid, review your invoice.

Using PayPal on Eventbrite:

One of the reasons to use PayPal as the preferred method of payment is that as a seller, you are at lesser risk of fraud as they have a Seller Protection which covers you, the seller for the full amount of the eligible payment if you may have been sent an unauthorized payment or one of your buyers lays a claim to have never received an item.

PayPal is easy to use, safe, flexible (can accept different modes of payment including crypto), express checkout, has the trust of many individuals and companies, express checkout, can receive a variety of payments outside the US and is a widely known service.

Paypal is for the buyer and seller:

PayPal is easy to use as you can get paid with either a credit or debit card. PayPal transfer is also available if the attendees can get a hold of your email address or mobile number.

Conclusion

Integrating your PayPal to your Eventbrite allows you receive payment from different countries worldwide and with a wider scope than the approved list of countries provided on the Eventbrite Payment Processing, your business and event can truly become global.
