Loyalty Programme of Stop and Shop

Stop and Shop’s Loyalty programme gained an award on America’s Best Loyalty Programme in Newsweek’s list. 

The programme provided go points on every purchase made with stop and shop which made people enjoy various offers and discounts. Earlier, the loyalty points were credited only with gas purchases from Stop and Shop.

Contractual Changes and Issues

In 2007 there were tremendous arguments raised by the workers of Stop and Shop who demanded their health care compensation while the company believed in looking at medical bills and making payments thereby only. The workers wanted health care payments to be made in full and went on several strikes seeking approval for their demands. 

The multiple rejections of their consent make them vote for the closure of stop and shop supermarket. The issue proceeded for a continuous three year period and negotiations were made regarding the health policies of the working staff. It was decided that full-time employees will be given contributions on every week for healthcare premiums and part-time employees won’t get any accessible benefit from the company. The practising staff is allotted co-payments as their healthcare premium.

After the end period of 2007’s contract, the issue was raised again in 2016. The company displayed the money requirements for further agreement formation in resolution to the issue. This brought out a solution with awarding employees for Sunday off and other federal holidays will also make payment by the mart to workers.
