  • No refund policy: All bookings are non-refundable.
  • Strict refund policy: You will receive a refund if you cancel within 60 days of the booking.
  • Firm refund policy: You receive a full refund if you cancel at least 60 days before your check-in date, and you receive a 50% refund if you cancel at least 30 days before your vacation. If you choose to cancel less than 30 days before your reservation, you will receive no refund.
  • Moderate refund policy: You receive a full refund if you cancel within 30 days before the date selected for check-in. Two weeks(14 days) before check-in entitles you to a 50% refund.
  • Relaxed refund policy: You receive a 100% if you cancel within at least two weeks (14 days) before check-in. Cancelations a week (7 days) before your booking entitles you to at least a 50% refund.
  • Custom refund policy: Property owners are allowed to have a custom policy. That means they set up their refund policy guidelines.

If done correctly within the window, you may receive up to a 100% refund with the refund reflecting approximately within 5 days in your account. VRBO is simply a medium connecting renters to owners. It’s important to note the policy your holiday destination offers.

Some hosts choose to structure payments as multiple payments or as one initial payment. That is all at the discretion of the host. How the host opts to structure payments is at their discretion. Ultimately, once again, it is all up to the owner of the property to issue refunds, not VRBO.

Conclusion

It is important to read all terms of conditions and accommodation policies before confirming any booking on VRBO. Knowing what you are getting into and how much you may need to pay is important. Make sure your credit card has sufficient funds before any transaction, and double-check that the accommodation you selected is what you initially had in mind before making any booking. That will save you time and money in the case that it is not. Most importantly do not forget to pack your sunscreen!
