  1. Credit Card: 

Credit Cards like MasterCard,  American Express, Visa, Optima, China Union Pay, Carte Blanche, Diners Club, Access, Japan Credit Bureau, Discover Card/NOVUS and Air Travel Card are accepted by Southwest Airlines. 

  1. Gift Card: 

They accept payments through southwest gift cards purchased directly from Southwest Airlines. They can be redeemed at Southwest.com and southwest mobile apps for initial flight booking. They are non-refundable and carries no expiration date. Southwest.com has a daily purchase limit of $1,000 per credit card.

Individuals are not permitted to place orders for Southwest gift cards worth more than $2,000. 

  1. Cash: 

Southwest Airlines no longer accepts cash as a purchase. However, at international airport ticket counters, cash will continue to be accepted. 

  1. Voucher: 

They accept Southwest LUV Vouchers purchased from Southwest Airlines. They can be easily redeemed at Southwest.com or via the Southwest mobile app or websites. However Southwest LUV Vouchers cannot be redeemed for government-imposed segment fees, excise taxes, Southwest Airlines Vacations packages, Passenger Facility Charges or miscellaneous charges. 

  1. Apple Pay: 

Southwest Airlines allows their customers to pay using their Apple Pay account as well. However, your Apple Pay account must be associated with Southwest gift cards or LUV Voucher or any unused ticketless travel funds. 

  1. PayPal: 

Southwest Airlines has also begun accepting payments through PayPal accounts. However, your PayPal account must be linked to Southwest gift cards, LUV Vouchers, or any unused ticketless travel funds. Southwest Airlines doesn’t allow their travellers to combine their PayPal account with another credit card during payment. 

  1. Rapid Rewards: 

Southwest Airlines Co. has introduced Rapid Rewards for their customers. Customers can now pay government taxes, fees and airport imposed costs starting from $5.60 per trip. You can also earn points for booking and travelling by flight with Southwest or by making purchases using Rapid Rewards partners.

  • Members can use Rapid Rewards points to purchase seats for themselves or others.
  • Infant and child travelling fares, military and government fares cannot be redeemed for points.
  • Members can give their points as a gift to other Rapid Rewards members or non-member. However, the points that have been awarded as a gift must be claimed within the 12 months of purchase.

Southwest Airlines provides three types of travelling experiences to their travellers. 

Business Select: 

  • 100% refund available for flight cancellations.
  • Earn up to 12X Rapid Rewards points.

Anytime: 

  • 100% Refundable and 
  • Earn up to 10X Rapid Rewards points. 

Wanna Get Away: 

  • Not fully refundable during any cancellation. However, the flights are reusable anytime you want. 
  • You can earn up to 6X Rapid Rewards points.
