Why Does YouTube Have So Many Ads?

Advertising is Information. It creates awareness. You may never know when a product is out or how beneficial it can be to you if there is no room for advertisement. And since we live in an online world, advertisements have got to show face online. Let’s know why YouTube has so many ads.

Why Does YouTube Have So Many Ads

YouTube has so many ads due to the number of partners. A YouTube partner is simply a content creator who wants and is qualified to monetize their videos.

YouTube Double Ads

YouTube double ads are nothing new, but a series of two ads played successively during a video. YouTube successively plays two ads. It would have been best if that means no more ads through the video but it’s the opposite.

Why Ads on YouTube are Irritating

Generally, all YouTube ads are annoying to people. It is already irritating to watch one ad during a video and double ads are just so unbecoming for people. With time, even the best ads seem boring, unwanted, or irrelevant which is why YouTube double ads always irritate the audience.

Some of the reasons YouTube double ads are annoying l are:

  • You cannot skip them all – When people are not given a choice to skip the ads they have already seen times without a number, it’s going to get annoying for them. You cannot successfully watch your show without at least two ads.
  • They ruin the mood – Imagine that you are watching something interesting and suddenly a non-skippable ad shows up on your screen and you cannot bypass it no matter how hard you try. You can be assured, that if you are engrossed in whatever you’re seeing, then this ad will surely ruin your mood. I believe nobody wants that. How can ads be a switch button to our moods? Advertisements can be annoying to an enormous extent!
  • They seem forced – When viewers are not permitted to stop or skip the YouTube double ads, they’re being forced to do it. When this is the case, the whole scenario seems to be an unjust display of power and the user has no choice. As a consumer of this digital world, people need to have their rights and YouTube is turning a deaf ear to the pleas of the people.

These reasons are not all there is but they are part of the major reasons YouTube double ads have become so problematic and are changing the conceived notion about YouTube. Youtube had always been a great resource to viewers on anything you can think of. But as it stands now it seems YouTube was created for advertisers rather than the consumers- the notion now is YouTube is getting more revenue from forcing people to view online ads.

However, it is worthy of note to mention that a petition has been raised as to this inconvenience and a ton of people have signed it.

What You Should Know About Ads

From the start, ads were not created to be annoying or to irritate anyone. Ads exist basically to inform you and create awareness about a product or service, persuade you to patronize, and remind you- just in case it skipped your mind. However, broadcast and streaming advertising is vexatious except for product placement because it avoids interruptions. Some of the reasons are :

  • Frequency of ads- if there is a continual display of ads or an ad appears too often while browsing the website or viewing a video, it becomes pissing.
  • Placement on the webpage- in some situations, some ads come boldly and overshadow the webpage an individual is on. It can become very annoying especially if such an individual loses focus on at what point they were (take for instance the person is reading on a webpage)
  • Lack of relevancy and bad targeting- several advertisements have become irritating because they are not at all relevant to the subscriber on whose page they have been displayed. How do you advertise chalk to a Pen Company!
  • Size of the ads- depending on how large an ad is, it can hassle an individual.

This continuous increase of online adverts appearing across our screens is certainly an atrocity for online consumers. I say it is time ads start functioning well and stop being a pain in the ass.
