What is a Loyalty Program

A loyalty program can be said to be a way for retailers to say thank you to their customers, as this is a business technique where they give special incentives and discounts to customers who have been brand loyal to them and also a way to attract and retain customers.

Now, the loyalty program’s incentives vary by company, but there are some common ones, such as:

  1. There are member-only discounts.
  2. Then there is early access to their sales, much like Amazon does with their prime members, who get one-day early access to Amazon’s sales.
  3. You get early access to new products, like if a new cellular phone is released on the market, then the prime members will get an opportunity to buy the phone before the normal customers.
  4. They also provide fast delivery options, similar to Amazon, where prime members receive some products in just a day and non-prime members receive the same product in 2-3 days.

To join a loyalty program is not difficult. You just need to have a credit or debit card and be 18+ years old. Then they will give you a membership card. Starbucks, for example, offers a great reward program in which you get exclusive points when you buy a coffee from them and those rewards can be redeemed for future purchases and they also give their old and loyal customers something like exclusive playlists and a lot of exclusive things.
