Some common problems

  • Your application is out of date.
  • The device you are on lacks an active network.
  • The programs are corrupted.

Try these steps!

  1. Simply try closing and reopening the application. As easy it may sound, it usually solves most of our problems.
  2. Check your network connectivity. A slow wifi connection or data cannot compete with the high definition in which Xfinity streams. So make sure you check your upload and download speeds before proceeding ahead. As an additional precaution step, reset your modem or the wifi router.
  3. Disable your VPN. private networks tend to mask our IP addresses which could cause a lot of technicalities. Check in with your internet provider and make sure to not use any third-party services.
  4. Sign out. Try logging out of the application and logging back in after a few minutes. This will give your application a fresh start.
  5. Reboot the device. Switch your device off and switch it back on after a while. Also, make sure that your device isn’t overheating which could be a cause of over-using your device. In case of overheating, switch off the device for a while and check back in an hour or two.
  6. Version update. Usually, Xfinity has an option to auto-update whenever there is a new one rolled in, but just in case that did not happen for whatever reason, go to your system settings and check for any unfinished updates. This will solve all the previously existing bugs and get your application working. After this, make sure you keep the auto-update box option checked in.
  7. Upgrade your firmware. The firmware you are using might not be compatible with your device anymore, so make sure you get the supported version of the software as needed. It is like giving your application a factory reset.
  8. Delete the application! You heard me right, delete the whole application and reinstall it again. It is like giving your application a factory reset. Don’t worry though, this won’t delete any of your saved data from the device. Just make sure to log back in with the same credentials and you will be good to go.

Go an extra mile

Do not panic if the above methods don’t pan out. There is a good chance that there is a server issue at Xfinity and if that’s the case they usually update all their customers about the issue. Make sure to contact their customer service and reiterate your problem to them. Note down when your subscription ends and make sure to pay it on time monthly/ yearly, according to your subscription plan. Often we tend to share our streaming services with friends and family, and sometimes apps can get overloaded if too many people are on them. So change your credentials now and then to not get into such problems. Finally, go to Xfinity’s forum platform where people discuss various problems they go through and if something sounds similar, make sure to try out that solution!

Hopefully one of the mentioned solutions works for you and you get to catch up on all that missed the fun! Happy streaming!
