Hawaiian Airlines is the largest and longest-running airline based in the U.S. State of Hawaii. The airline has flights from Hawaii to the U.S. mainland, as well as international flights.

Hawaiian Airlines Have Wi-Fi

With the world being technologically advanced as it is today, one needs to be connected to the internet most of the time. Be it for keeping up to date with what’s going on at the office or keeping in touch with friends and family. So, when we need to take a flight to go for either an important business meeting or a trip for leisure, having access to Wi-Fi is a must.

If you plan on using Hawaiian Airlines for your next flight, you may wonder whether the airline service offers Wi-Fi to its passengers. Well, keep on reading to see what I’ve found out after looking in on the subject.

Hawaiian Airlines does not offer Wi-Fi service on board any of their aircraft. The airline offers no wireless internet connectivity at all, however, their A321neo aircraft does offer a free in-flight streaming service that is free to all their passengers. To access this service, you will need to download the airline’s app. For first-class passengers, a free tablet device will be provided to make use of this streaming service.

Let’s have a deeper look at the conditions for using the airline’s streaming service.

How to Use the Hawaiian Airline Free Streaming Service

Hawaiian Airlines boasts their first-class seats having access to great food, comfortable lounges, and most importantly, a free tablet to access their free in-flight streaming service.

So, what about passengers in other classes? How do they access this streaming service on an A321neo aircraft?

Before Boarding your main cabin or Extra comfort Cabin

You will first need to have access to a smartphone or mobile device. Only devices which are android, or iOS will be able to access the service.

You will then need to download the free Hawaiian Airlines app from the Google Play Store or iTunes.

After Boarding Your A321neo Flight

First, you will have to switch your device’s location ‘On’ and then switch the mode to Airplane Mode. Then connect to the Wi-Fi network, ‘HawaiianAirWifi’. Thereafter, open the Hawaiian Airlines app.

Click on ‘More’. Select the ‘In-flight Entertainment’ option and then you can then start streaming.

Devices That Support the Free Hawaiian Airlines App

There may be some devices that would not support the Hawaiian Airlines app, so make sure to have one that does. Supported devices are:

  • iOS operating devices like iPads and iPhones
  • iPod Touch with an iOS 11.2 or a later model
  • An android device with version 8.0 or later

If you do not have a supported device, then you can access the free streaming entertainment service by following the instructions below:

  • Connect to the ‘HawaiianAirWifi’ browser
  • Click on the airline’s website, ‘HawaiianAirlinesWifi.com’ on a Chrome browser version 58+.
  • Thereafter, you can browse and stream through available content (TV and movies).

As with devices, some Browsers can support the streaming service and some cannot. Listed below are Browsers that cannot support the streaming service.

  • Firefox
  • Internet Explorer
  • Safari and,
  • Edge

Supported Browsers include:

  • Chrome 58+
  • Windows 7 to 10
  • macOS X 10.10 to 10.14

Airlines That Do Offer Their Passengers a Wireless Internet Connection

Now that you know that Hawaiian Airlines Aircraft do not offer a Wi-Fi service and only has a streaming service, you may want to know which Airlines offer the service.

JetBlue is the only airline that offers all its passengers free and unlimited Wi-Fi. Be it for streaming or for chatting to friends and family on your favorite social media apps, JetBlue has got you covered. The only issue with JetBlue’s Wi-Fi service is that you must be flying within Viasat’s coverage to get a Wi-Fi connection.

Delta Airlines will also be implementing a free Wi-Fi service to their passengers soon. However, now, to access the Wi-Fi service in-flight, a passenger can pay the required $8 fee. If you aren’t interested in streaming, then you don’t have to pay the fee since Delta passengers receive free Wi-Fi for mobile messaging on social media apps. These include Facebook, WhatsApp, and iMessage.

Southwest Airlines offers free messaging Wi-Fi as well. Using social media networks like iMessage, Facebook messenger, as well as WhatsApp, is free.

Finally, the last airline on the list is Alaska Airlines. This airline also offers the same free Wi-Fi messaging service for Facebook Messenger, WhatsApp, and iMessage.

Conclusion

Connecting to the internet would not be possible on any Hawaiian Airline flight since they do not have a wireless internet connection.  So, you will only be able to stream TV and movies which are on their system on-board their A321neo aircraft.

If you do not have a mobile device in the main cabin or the extra comfort seats, then you will not be able to access the streaming service.

If you do have a mobile device, either Android or iOS, you can download the Airline app before boarding, and access their streaming service on board. First-class passengers receive a free streaming tablet and do not need to download this app.
