These rewards are calculated 2% pre-tax amount of most purchases through front-end registers in Costco warehouses, Costco website and for purchases made through Costco travel once the journey is completed.These rewards are credited 3 months before the end of the membership and the member needs to be enrolled till the end of the year to be eligible for the rewards. 

If at any point, the primary cardholder is removed from the membership, the purchases made by them will become ineligible for the 2% rewards program.These rewards are sent as certificates to the primary members account with the renewal notice and these can be redeemed at any Costco warehouse front-end registers but not on self-checkout counters.
