A return policy is a guarantee to a customer by a retail store or manufacturer to replace, repair, or refund the customer if they are unsatisfied with any purchase they have made. The policy is set by the store or the company and must be followed for a successful return process to take place ensuring both the customer, the store or the companies are satisfied. LG has set up a return policy that dictates the way its customers return phones and how LG handles the phone returned and refund to customers. LG does not exchange returned phones but guarantees the customer a refund if eligible.   1. Reasons for returning a phone to LG 

A customer can return a phone purchased at LG stores or online at if they are dissatisfied with the phone due to various reasons which include

  • Damage phone

If a phone is delivered to the customer then the customer realizes the phone or any of its accessories is damaged during shipping, they are eligible to return the phone to LG for a refund. 

  • Wrong product delivered

A customer who has ordered a phone in LG and receives a phone that is different from the one they ordered in terms of the model number, quantity, color, or storage size is allowed to return the phone for a refund from LG. 

  • Manufacturer defect 

A customer can receive a phone they have ordered from LG but it has a manufacturer’s defect that makes the phone or its accessories not to function as it should or not function at all. Such phones should be returned to LG for a refund. 

  • Missing some parts 

If a customer receives a phone that misses some of its parts or accessories as indicated in the order details, they should return it to LG for a refund.

A customer can return an ordered phone to LG if it took too long for it to be delivered to the customer making the customer dissatisfied with LG services or if a customer receives an order they had already paid for but canceled the order due to one reason or the other. 

  1. Process of returning a phone to LG

To return a phone ordered online, a customer has to contact LG through 1-800-243-0000 or log in to their LG account, go to the specific phone then want to return, on the order status click on return. In both cases, the customer must provide the reasons for the return and await approval from LG. After approval, the customer will receive a Return Merchandise Authorization number that they will use to prove the eligibility of the return. 

The customer is then required to properly pack the phone in the packaging it came together with all its accessories and any documents it came with, a copy of the Return Merchandise Authorization number and the order confirmation, label the package clearly, and take it to a carrier that will mail the package to LG 

  1. Phone reporting and return period

LG has set up a return reporting period that is required for one to be eligible for a refund depending on the reasons for the refund. If a customer notices the phone delivered is damaged, misses some parts, the order does not arrive in stipulated time hence lost, or defective they have to report to LG within 5 days, 7 days, 5 days, and 15 days respectively from the phone delivery date otherwise LG will not grant them any refund.  

If allowed to return the phone to LG by being granted the Return Merchandise Authorization number the customer has to return the phone within 15 days after delivery for LG to process their refund. If the customer does not adhere to the stipulated return period they will not be given any refund. 

  1. Refund process and period

LG refund process begins when a returned phone arrives at LG where verifies the product is in good condition, has all the accessories and documentation it was received with, and has a Return Merchandise Authorization Number assigned to it. If the verification is okay, LG refunds the customers to the original mode of payment they used to purchase the phone. The refund process takes between 10-15 business days from the day the returned phone was delivered to LG.  

  1. Terms and conditions of returning a phone to LG 

To return a phone to LG the customer must adhere to the terms and conditions of phone return set by LG. The customer once they have received a product and discovers it is damaged or defective; is required to report to LG within 5 business days, if a return has been authorized they should return the phone within 15 days from the date of delivery for them to receive a refund. 

The phone to be returned must be well packaged in the packaging it came with all the contents that were in the original packaging and no return will be accepted if it does not have a Return Merchandise Authorization number assigned to it. 

The phones returned not damaged or defective will be charged a restocking fee of 8% of the purchase price from the refund to be received by the customer.
