Rate Overview-Commercial account
You can budget your electric bill more easily with Georgia Power’s FlatBill. Throughout the business, they know that every customer has different needs. That is why they try to offer rates that fit your needs. For a whole year, you pay the same amount every month with FlatBill. It is a no surprise program that analyzes your bill history for the last 12 months, the predicted weather for the upcoming 12 months, and predicted changes in energy use in order to create a special FlatBill package for qualified business customers.
- Customers must have a General Service rate with Georgia Power
- You need 12 months of active service and no non-pay cuts
- A month’s electricity usage cannot exceed 3,000 kWh
How the rate works
Georgia Power offers members the option of a fixed monthly bill for a period of 12 months, regardless of their usage during that time.
Despite summer’s heat or winter’s cold, you will only pay one flat fee. In addition, FlatBill provides a customized dollar amount that takes into account your actual past electricity consumption and the weather predictions for the next year. In the FlatBill offer, an additional amount is included to guarantee that your payment will not change as usage fluctuates.
A new FlatBill offer will be sent to you at the end of your 12-month FlatBill period. If you decide to stay on FlatBill, you will receive a new offer based on your actual usage during the past 12 months and anticipated usage for the upcoming 12 months. Your annual contract does not have a true-up settlement or a deferred payment. So, there can be no unexpected charges after the year ends!
If you terminate the program before the end of the contract, you may be responsible for a settlement amount. Specifically, if the amount of electricity you actually used results in a higher tax bill than the one resulting from the FlatBill program, then you will be required to pay the difference. However, if you meet the terms of your annual contract, you aren’t required to pay a settlement.
Summary Billing facilitates the timely payment of bills by reducing the number you receive. Qualifying customers include commercial and industrial customers with ten or more accounts with Alabama Power, Georgia Power, or Mississippi Power.
