What is the reason behind the brand name Ukoala?

The idea behind naming the brand Ukoala is:

The trademarked design of Ukoala bags is inspired by the body form, long arms, and strong paws of the koala (koala bear), which make it excellent for anchoring itself to a tree branch.

But what does “U” means in Ukoala?

The “U” in the Ukoala bags stands for the adaptive and versatile nature of Ukoala bags that YOU (U) may customize to meet your particular style.

How did the idea for the U Koala bag come about?

“Once upon a time, I flew an overnight flight alone, with strangers seated next to me. I was uncomfortable with the prospect of leaving my handbag unattended while I slept.

I thought that; if I could keep my luggage closely linked to my body, I would not have to worry.

So I untied my shoelaces and slung my small leather handbag across my thigh. That notion lingered in my mind; till I came and saw a koala bear in Australia.

How could this massive animal keep so safe in the woods simply by hugging a tree?

A hugging koala gave me the inspiration and the idea of designing a perfect bag.

I compressed a koala bear’s structural shape to build the bag’s core. I tweaked the angle of the curve using a simple mathematical calculation to achieve absolute balance and apply it to our weight distribution system.

Frequently asked question
  • Are all bags appropriate for concealed carry?

Yes, for the Ukoala collection. A sewn-in Velcro® patch in the main pocket allows connecting an optional bespoke Kydex holster (adjustable to the position that best fits your quick draw access).

They recommend the standard or expanded sizes for concealed carry clients. Since compact bags only hold .380 or bodyguard size weapons and have little capacity for other goods.

  • What size Ukoala Bag should I get for my gun?

It is determined by the weapon’s size. Measure your gun and choose a compartment based on the main compartment sizes shown below, which is where we recommend keeping a handgun. Keep in mind that the compact size bag will only fit a.380 or bodyguard pistol, leaving little room for additional bulky goods, so keep that in mind while making your selection.

Dimensions of the Main Compartment

Compact (A SKUS): 5″ x 8″ x 1.75″

Standard (B SKUS): 6.0″ x 9″ x 1.75″

6.5″ x 9.5″ x 1.75″ when expanded (C SKUS).

  • Will the bag work for someone left-handed?

Yes, these bags may be swapped out, which means it is interchangeable.

  • Is it possible for me to wash my bag?

Yes. You may hand wash any bag except the leather Cowboy using a moderate dish detergent and water. After washing your bag, make sure to hang it up to dry thoroughly.

  • Are these bags weatherproof?

Ukoala bags are water-resistant but not waterproof. For severe outdoor usage, they recommend bags constructed of sturdy nylon or waxed canvas fabrics. Cotton canvas is the least durable of the materials.

  • Do I require additional straps if I choose the Backpack style?

Certainly not. Many customers find that the current waist belt works just fine when fully stretched and threaded through the loop on the back of our bag. If you want more length, the optional extension component should be purchased. Another alternative is to order a second waist belt and an extension piece and configure them for backpack usage, then change out the original waist belt (for everyday use) with the backpack waist belt.
