Greystar pet community is majorly about housing your pet with you in your apartment and creating a positive atmosphere around it. In previous years, house owners, caretakers, and landlords outrightly prohibited pets from their houses and properties. But with Greystar now with us, so many pet policies are in place to creatively enhance pets living experience without any rancor. Greystar apartments help pet owners bring in their pets into a community that is fully equipped with amenities and facilities for pets.

Greystar apartments are very pet-friendly and at the same time stocked up with amenities for pets, ranging from large bark parks to pet stations that are strategically placed within the community, and to pet salons. Being a community on its own, the pet policy governing this community is quite different from that governing a hotel or an inn. However, the Greystar community has its own rules and regulations for pet owners who want to live within their community;

• Breed restrictions. For pets like dogs, not all breeds are allowed within the Greystar community irrespective of their size and color. Aggressive breeds are not allowed, examples of those breeds that are not allowed include; 

AKITA, AMERICAN BULLDOG, CHOW CHOW, DOBERMAN, GERMAN SHEPHERD, GREAT DANE, HUSKY BREEDS, MALAMUTE PITBULL, BREEDS, PRESA, CANARIO, ROTTWEILER, STAFFORDSHIRE, TERRIER, ST.BERNARD. 

Pet owners who want to live within the Greystar community are advised to contact the housing manager about the breed restrictions because restrictions are subject to change. Also, pet owners are to review the pet guidelines and restrictions as well as bring their pet for inspection before they can be allowed to live in the Greystar community with their pet. The Greystar community housing management can as well decide not to accept a particular breed of dog for any reason.

• The number of pets allowed by the Greystar community per apartment is a maximum of 2. Anything above 2 is not permitted in the apartment. 

Pet owners can only have 2 pets living with them in their apartments and not more. Violation of this rule can make the house owner forfeit all rights and entitlements to the apartment. Pet owners are expected to discuss this information with the housing manager before moving in.

• All pets to be brought to the Greystar community must be six months or older. Pets that are under six months are not permitted within their community.

Also, pet owners who want to live within the Greystar community are expected to write and sign a consent form, have a veterinarian statement about the health status of the pets, and pay an additional security deposit. Registration might be required by the housing management before moving in with the pet to the apartment.

Pet owners who want to have someone share the apartment with them are to discuss with the housing management and notify them of this new development. Those with disabilities that are assisted by their pets are not excluded from the Greystar community. Greystar community has adequate provisions in place for them concerning their pet as well as other information. Pet owners are to take note of the rules of an apartment before moving in even if they are pet-friendly.  Each housing management has rules around breed restrictions, pet size restrictions, and the maximum number of pets permitted per apartment. This is why it’s important to know the rules and regulations of the apartment and discuss your pets with them before moving in.

• Deposits, fees, and insurance. Before considering an apartment as suitable to live with your pet, ask questions about the pet fees, deposits, and insurance. To avoid paying more than you bargained at the end of the month, if possible have a written and signed agreement.
