Fire TV sticks are usually very helpful when you are traveling as there is no surety whether the hotel you are going to stay in has a Smart TV or not as, without this, your whole trip can be messed up. As the TV stick is only able to connect with the previously connected Wi-Fi network, it does not connect with the hotel’s Wi-Fi network. If you are in need to connect a Fire TV stick to Wi-Fi without a remote, you can make use of your other mobile phone and install the Fire TV app on it, use HDMI-CEC Remote or you can connect it to the internet using Echo or Echo Dot. Using the Fire TV app on another mobile:
You can use their Fire TV app if you are unable to make access to any universal remote or HDMI-CEC for any good reason. Amazon’s Fire TV app is the easiest to use the app. But you are only able to connect Firestick to a Wi-Fi network and not to the Internet on your smartphone. So, you will need two devices for the second method. It can be anything like two smartphones, or even one smartphone and the other can be a tablet. Follow these steps:
- Download the Fire TV app on any one of the devices available.
- Turn on the hotspot on the other device with SSID and password same as your home network.
- Connect Firestick to the Hotspot
- Make sure that the device having the Fire TV app is also connected to the hotspot
- As this is done, now you can easily use the Fire TV app to control the Firestick.
- While in the app, scroll down and connect your device to the Wi-Fi network.
Once this is done, now you can disconnect the hotspot.
Connect Firestick to Wi-Fi using Echo or Echo Dot:
If you can’t make access to the above two mentioned solutions, opt for this as this is the last one. The last thing you can do is to connect your Firestick to Wi-Fi using echo or Echo Dot. It is better to use Echo than the second device (As this is usually less available to the people). You can use voice commands to connect it to the new network using your Echo Dot once the initial configuration is updated. Voice command can also be then used to search for streams or browse for media once you have connected it to the Wi-Fi network.
