Triplog -Know More About It

TripLog is a mileage tracking app that was founded by software developer Ted He after he realized that the most time-consuming expense tracking chore was mileage tracking. As a busy professional with a family, Ted He strived to find a balance between work and family time. This led him to try to find an automated solution to his mileage tracking problem, and when he found nothing to match his need in the market, TripLog was birthed. Let’s know more about Triplog.

Triplog

TripLog Mileage Tracker is one of the best fleet management software available in the market. It is widely used in many industries like construction, healthcare, IT, sales, and other industry segments to streamline processes related to expense tracking, route planning, reporting, and on a unified platform. Triplog ensures accurate mileage tracking by giving staff members the ability to set working hours, and manage business and personal trips.

TripLog Features

TripLog has amazing features for both freelancers and business owners. It can help you or your company track mileage and other related costs such as parking tickets, tolls, and fuel expenses. These are some of TripLog’s core features:

Web Dashboard & App

TripLog’s web dashboard allows employers and administrators to manage their company’s trips, vehicles, and app users. It also allows you to access all of its app features, like mileage tracking, reports, expense tracking, and other features. The option to download the mobile app is also available on the dashboard. You can then use the mobile app for tracking your mileage and expenses all from your smartphone device.

Auto Start Options

Before you begin tracking your mileage, you can choose your preferred automatic tracking method from the 6 options below:

  1. MagicTrip – MagicTrip allows TripLog to automatically track your driving in the background within the first 2 minutes of driving and it stops automatically when you’ve been idle for over 5 minutes (or whatever time you set it to).
  2. Car Bluetooth – This method only tracks when connected to Bluetooth. Simply connect your phone to the car’s Bluetooth to set it up and tracking will begin as soon as you exceed the speed threshold while connected.
  3. TripLog Drive – This is a device from TripLog that has built-in GPS and tracking does not require the use of a smartphone.
  4. TripLog Beacon – Beacon requires a Bluetooth connection to a smartphone to track your mileage. It does however use less battery life and starts tracking when you exceed the speed threshold.
  5. Plug-n-Go – This option allows you to track your mileage while your phone is charging, and stops once tracking once you unplug it.
  6. OBD II Scanners – This device uses Bluetooth to transfer data from your vehicle’s onboard diagnostics scanner (OBD).

Add a Vehicle

This is a feature on TripLog that allows you to add different vehicles for tracking. You can also set a default vehicle or add vehicles that are not for work if you intend to use the app for personal use.

Manual Tracking

If you are not so keen on the automated tracking options on TripLog, you can opt for manual tracking. This is not the most accurate option for tracking as you’ll also need to input the time yourself.

Fuel Economy Calculator

To help you reduce fuel consumption, TripLog has a feature that automatically calculates fuel economy for you when you enter fuel purchase information in the app.

Expense Tracking

If you’re one for entertainment and eating on the go, then you can easily add your miscellaneous expenses associated with your miles in this section.

Approval Management

The TripLog app lets drivers submit mileage and other expenses that need processing. This feature also allows the account administrator and approvers to access information submitted by drivers on the web dashboard.

Route Planning

This feature is integrated with Google maps and allows drivers and employers to plan trips using the shortest routes, with an option to incorporate up to 8 destinations.

Detailed Reports

TripLog has an existing IRS-compliant report template that can be modified and downloaded in different formats. It features information such as the profit and loss, the time spent at each location, and vehicle and non-vehicle-related tax deductions.

TripLog Pricing

TripLog has a free plan that allows up to 5 personal vehicles. For a plan that is professional for a single user, it will cost you $4 a month or $40 a year. To get pricing for an Enterprise plan, you will have to contact TripLog for custom pricing plans for multiple users.

Conclusion

The real benefits of using TripLog include total mileage tracker customization, cost reduction, ease of use, convenience, and speed. It also has an additional feature that is not common in other mileage tracking apps that allows you to do route planning. TripLog basically combines 3 apps in one by giving you the ability to track mileage, expenses, and time.
