But if you aren’t sure about a course or whether you’d like it after you’ve enrolled in it or not, you wouldn’t want to commit to it, would you? What if you end up with a challenging course and not enough time to understand it? Is there a way to engage with any course without committing to it through the admission fee? In this article we shall see Cengage Free Trial.

Cengage Free Trial

Cengage has just the thing for you – a Free Trial policy. A free trial is a green card for experiencing everything the platform has to offer and then making a calculated and convinced decision whether you want to continue leveraging the services or not. In this article, you will be walked through their free trial policy and other things like refunds and discounts.

Cengage Subscription Plans

  • Cengage Unlimited– This is a one-stop platform that provides students with all the study material, courses, study manuals, and guides under one subscription plan.
  • Cengage Unlimited eTextbooks– This subscription is, basically, the usual plan minus the premium offerings of the platform like homework worksheets.

Cengage’s Free Trial Policy

Cengage offers free trials for both of its subscription plans. Some things to keep in mind while taking the free trials:

  • The free trials for any subscription plan have a duration of seven days.
  • You need to be a user of Cengage to unlock these trials, and you can take more than one trial for any new course you want to start.
  • The trials will make available to you only the features that support your subscription plan. If you don’t have the Unlimited plan, you won’t be eligible to access Cengage’s premium websites, their content, and so on.
  • You can quite literally take an unlimited number of trials for any course or material you’d like. However, every seven-day trial will have a 90-day break before you can reaccess it.
  • You will also be automatically charged for the material you are trying out for free unless you cancel the trial.

Some of the features available for a free trial with the two subscription plans are as follows:

Cengage Unlimited Free Trial

You can technically have access to everything that the paid version of the subscription plan entails. However, Cengage Unlimited provides some services that can’t be accessed through the free trial. These are the offline resources (that Cengage gets through its partnering offline study stores) for the subscription plan like the renting books, free printing, etc. However, some of the features that are available in the free trial are study guides & manuals and other study tools, college/ career success tips, etc.

Cengage Unlimited eTextbooks Free Trial

This free trial plan has the same features as the aforementioned free trial. However, you won’t be able to access any premium features that only come with the Cengage Unlimited plan. One thing to keep in mind while taking this trial is that you will lose access to any eBooks you had accommodated into your study material while using the free trial. You can only keep the eBooks if you retake the free trial after 90 days and add the books again or take the paid subscription.

A Step-by-Step to Cancel the Free Trial

If you don’t want Cengage to charge you for the paid version of the subscription, you can cancel your free trial anytime within seven days. Below, you will find the procedure to do it:

  • Open My Account in your Cengage account.
  • Go to “My Subscriptions”
  • You will see an option to “Auto-charge” the subscription. All you need to do is uncheck the box in front of the option, and the auto-charge for the paid subscription version will end.

Conclusion

If you are unsure whether you want to take another add-on to your Cengage account, you don’t necessarily have to abandon it. With the free trial policy offered by Cengage, you can try out as many courses and study materials you’d like, as many times as you’d like them.
