Walmart Canada Return Policy- Return Period

A return policy offers customers assurance of refund or exchange of the products they purchase from a retailer in the event they are not satisfied with the product or the product ends up being damaged or defective either during shipping, manufacturer error, or customer error. The policy is set up with terms and conditions that are to be followed by the retail store offering the products. Walmart Canada has provided its customers with a return policy that governs the return of products bought from Walmart Canada or their third-party sellers.

Walmart Canada’s return policy assures the customer of refund or exchange of the eligible products and refund of shipping charges and taxes if the product was damaged or defective before being delivered to the customer or shipping error from Walmart Canada. Return period 

  • 120 days return period 

The return period of all products is to take place within 90 days from the purchase date and can be extended for more than 30 days. After which Walmart Canada cannot accept the refund or exchange the returned period.

  • 45 days return period 

Customers who purchased personal computers, digital cameras, computer games, and their consoles, printers, etc are to return their products within 14 days from the day of purchase failure to which Walmart cannot provide them with a refund or exchange.  

  • 60 days return period 

To return large appliances, TVs, air conditioners, etc. a customer is given 60 days from the date of purchase after which no refund or exchange will be given. 

  • 15 days return period

A customer who purchased contract post-paid phones is to return them to Walmart Canada if they are not satisfied with them within 15 days of purchase.  

  • 1 year return period

Purchases of trees or shrubs are given a return period of within 1 year from the date of purchase. 

Exclusions 

The following products are excluded for refund or exchange in the updated return policy. 

  • Same product of more than three bulk items 
  • Headphones, sleeping bags, air mattresses, and products without receipts purchased after June 1, 2020

Where to return a product?

A customer can return the product either in-store or online. 

In-store return

To return a product in-store, a customer has to ensure the product is eligible for return and visit a Walmart Canada store with the product, original receipt of purchase, all other contents that came with the product including the accessories and its packaging.  

The Items sold by a third party with a retail value of $150 and below are eligible for in-store returns. 

The following are excluded for in-store returns

  • Hazardous materials like gas or flammable liquids
  • Products with more than 100 pounds 
  • Equipment that uses fuel for outdoors 
  • Jewelry priced at over $40 
  • Final sale products e.g. ammunition, underwear, etc. 
  • Alcoholic products
  • Walmart Canada third party online sales
  • Opened cartridges, beauty care products, Halloween costumes, etc.

Online returns

A customer can return their product online to a Walmart Canada store or by mail using the following process.

The customer logs in to their Walmart Canada account and selects the order and select Manage order which displays the order information where the customer selects Return items and selects the order to be returned, provide the reason, the quantity, select whether the return is in-store or by mail and click on the continue button. If by mail, the customer packages the product with all its components and ships it to Walmart Canada using the Canada Post mailbox or schedules a pick-up for bulky items.
