United Parcel Service (U.P.S) is an American company that delivers packages and documents worldwide. The history of UPS dates back as far back as 1907 when it was founded by two teenagers; James E. Casey and Claude Ryan with a capital of $100 and started operations from a cellar.

The company started off delivering packages to people by foot or bicycle, and after a merger with another delivery company, it was able to acquire its first delivery truck.

United Parcel Service (UPS) is privately owned and is not influenced by the federal government in the running of its operations provided they abide by the federal government’s employment policy.

UPS As A Private Company

However, the choice to employ their staff is dependent on the organization, provided they abide by the labor laws of the United States Department of Labour.
