With the rise of the OTT platform, Netflix has witnessed quite some competition in the last 3 years and this rise was accelerated in the lockdown as people had nothing to do Online streaming platforms took advantage of it and one such fierce competitor of Netflix is Amazon Prime. Let us know more about “5 Reason Why Amazon Prime Is A Bad Buy!”.

Although Prime not only offers video streaming but many other features like free delivery and Amazon music ad-free and much more, even after all this Amazon prime is not worth it here are five reasons for it
1. Amazon Prime is simply bad
First, the search tool in Prime video is teriible as most of the time you search, it will recommend something else and most of the series or movies in Amazon prime video and English based whereas Netflix has much more variety, streaming Mexican, Spanish, French shows and giving those artists a chance to showcase themselves globally one such example is of Squid Games that became 2021 trend, is Korean series streaming on Netflix when everyone said no to director Netflix helped him in launching it and showing it to the World
Amazon has spent billions on movie production and series but the result is not great the movies and series seem to lack a good base and most of the shows ended after a few seasons and were not get popularity with its peer and viewers. Even though Prime does a lot of advertising but the nobody seems interested in watching Prime movies and shows
2. Prime free delivery is overrated
Prime gives free delivery to its user but all the orders above $25 or approximately ₹2000 come with free delivery so the feature itself is backfiring Primes benefits and yes those who order regularly can benefit from Prime but people can buy in bulk and save money that way, by getting free delivery.
So this feature of free delivery and prime products are just eye-catcher to get the customer into believing he is getting more value than the money they are paying for and making the customer more lazy and misguided.
3. Prime Music does seem appealing
Now prime music is a good deal of getting ad-free music but the only problem is the User interface that other apps have Spotify makes everything thing and appeals to the audience whereas Prime music is somewhat blunt and only one person can benefit from it as it cannot be shared and many of us have different choice of music and in one account having all the music can be cumbersome and to make a playlist you need to have all the song while Spotify suggests music of your taste which makes everything hassle-free. There is very less variety of music on Amazon Prime and not just music but Podcast and many more.
4. Prime membership is not enough
Recently Amazon Prime added Lions gate Play which has some of the finest movies in Hollywood but the catch is along with Primes membership you need to get a Lions gate Play membership to see the movie although you can view it from Prime but have to pay extra for Lions gate Play which doesn’t seem the very cost-effective and wise thing to do. The customer who paid Prime membership should have access to all the movies yet he or she is forced to buy another membership to watch a movie
5. Early access of 30 minutes justified?
One key feature of Amazon Prime is early access to many sales on the products that Amazon does but most of the features are useless as getting just 30 minutes before sales go live is not enough to see all the products and make a decision, especially when buying something expensive as Amazon sales happen for quite a few days that those 30 minutes early access is just a useless feature as most of the products are in bulk and just products being out is stock in sale time is unlikely
Conclusion
Overall Amazon Prime seems to offer a lot more than other products but that is the strategy of Amazon in making people feel that they are buying at a very cheap price and getting everything at once, Amazon is the one having last laughter as most of the feature it’s offering are rather outsourced by other company or are simply not that effective. If anyone wants to buy Prime just for movies he should save up and get Netflix and similarly for Music but Amazon Prime can be helpful to those who don’t have just the budget for higher products and can be of value if you buy it at a much discount price in festive season sales
