There are two types of Eye exams done in BJ’s Optical and they are: 

  • The first one is for those patients who want to wear spectacle or glasses 
  • The second one is for those patients who want to wear lenses.

  • The cost for a routine eye exam for those who wear glasses or those who want to wear glasses is $ 60 and for an extra check-up for pupil dilation is $ 10 and this should be given while recording your name in the appointment list.
  • The cost for a routine eye exam for those who wear contact lenses or for those who want to wear contact lenses is $ 110. This rate is only for those patients who need spherical soft lenses.
  • The cost for a routine eye exam for those who wear contact lenses or for those who want to wear contact lenses is $ 120. This rate is for those patients who want to wear toric or astigmatic contact lenses which are those lenses that have power for both myopia and hypermetropia. 
  • The cost for a routine eye exam for those who wear contact lenses or for those who want to wear contact lenses is $ 130. This rate is for those patients who want to wear multifocal lenses which are bifocal contact lenses.
  • All the cost for a routine eye exam for those patients who wants to or have contact lenses is inclusive of pupil dilation exam fees.

There is no walk-in method of doing the appointments for an eye exam so you need to schedule your appointment time by calling the BJ’s Optical Centre.

Price of glasses in BJ’s Optical center- frames start at $39.99., you can also bring your old frames and get a replacement glass lens at $25 extra for fittings along with the price of the lens.

Price of contact lenses in BJ’s Optical center- contact lenses start at $20.99 per box but the range varies depending on the model.

Time takes to get a prescribed glass and contact lenses from BJ’s Optical center- 5 to 7 working days after you place the order.

Tests were done for an eye exam for contact lenses-

  • Cornea measurement- to check the curvature of your cornea. Choose the proper curve and size of your cornea. 
  • Pupil and iris measurement- to check the overall size of your pupil and also to check the size of the colored part of your eyes which is the Iris,
  • To check the condition of your tear glands- through this the doctor will know whether you have a problem with dry eyes or not.

  • Visual ability- to check the sharpness of your vision through the alphabet or the numeric chart by taking a cover on an eye and watching it from the other to determine whether both eyes are healthy or not.
