How To Use Afterpay Online?
Shoppers can use Afterpay online at childrensplace.com, and other platforms. Get to the Children’s Place site and add your preferred items to your cart. At the site checkout, choose the Afterpay payment method.
If you are a first-time buyer on childrensplace.com, you will create an Afterpay account on the site. The account is immediately approved if you are compliant with Afterpay requirements. If you already created your account, you simply log in and proceed to purchase.
Important to note is that not all Children’s Play items are eligible for Afterpay payment. Place only eligible items in your shopping cart. There may also be a limit to the Afterpay purchase amount. Using Afterpay does not affect the delivery of items purchased. Items on Afterpay are delivered as per the delivery charter.
How to use Afterpay in stores?
You need to have the Afterpay mobile app from which is available for Android and Apple devices. The app has instructions that you will follow to set up your card whether with Apple or Google pay. This allows you to make contactless payments during purchase.
Similar to online shopping, Afterpay allows you to pay 25 percent of the total amount, and complete it later. Payment installments are automatically deducted from your payment method every two weeks. You can also log in to your Afterpay account and complete payment before the schedule.
International customers visiting Children’s Place stores cannot use Afterpay payment. This is because Afterpay requires a US Visa or MasterCard or American Express, a US billing and shipping address, and a US phone number.
Requirements for using Afterpay
You need to meet various requirements to use Afterpay in the US. You need to:
- Be a resident or be residing in any American state, or the District of Columbia.
- Be at least 18 years old.
- Be at least 19 years old if you reside in Alabama, or if you are a ward of the state in Nebraska.
- Be able to enter a legally binding agreement.
- Have a verifiable mobile number and email address.
- Have a valid delivery address within America.
- Be a legal holder of a US-issued AMEX, credit, or debit card
Afterpay allows you to split the payment of your items into 4 payments. You can submit the 4 payments installments after every 2 weeks.
Afterpay payment limit
There is a limit to the Afterpay amount you can spend at Children’s place. You can only use Afterpay for items worth between $30 and $2000. The pre-approved amount may differ and the limit amount differs for online and store shoppers.
You can check your approved Afterpay limit on the Afterpay app or online account. The pre-approved amount may however not guarantee Afterpay method approval during purchase.
Additionally, you cannot use Afterpay to purchase gift cards. When using Afterpay, you will purchase gift cards separately and pay instantly to purchase gift cards. Should you fail to complete the payment installments as per schedule, a late payment fee may apply.
Can you exchange or return items purchased through Afterpay?
Yes, you can return or exchange items purchased through Afterpay at Children’s place. You will be refunded or can exchange your item as per the Children’s place standard return policy.
You can simply use the Afterpay app to return an item to the Afterpay card. Do this by selecting the Afterpay card on your profile tab, and clicking on ‘return an order”. This will allow you to register your return and Afterpay will process the refund.
Note that the purchase should not be returned to Afterpay but to Children’s place stores or online. Afterpay will receive a notification about your refund once it is processed. Your payment plan will also be reviewed to show your newly accumulated balance. The fourth installment will be deleted if your refund amount exceeds 25 percent of the total order amount.
Additional Charges When Using Afterpay
You will not incur any additional charges for using the Afterpay payment method at Children’s place. There will only be a late payment fee added if you fail to pay the remaining installments as scheduled. This mode of payment will simply cost you the same amount as paying instantly.
