U.S Road Test System has a scoring sheet which contains 31 mistakes that can be made by the driver. For every mistake you make certain points are deducted. If you get above 30 in your test it means you failed the test and if you get 30 or lower that means you passed. 

The Road Test score sheet has 31 possible mistakes that can be made while the driving test is going on and there are certain points accumulated for every mistake you make. 

If you gather more than 30 points in a Road Test it means that you failed the test. While if you get 30 points or lower it implies you’ve passed the test.

Failed to Check Blind Spot

5 points will be lessened if you only make use of mirrors and do not do a shoulder check to look around the areas that cannot be viewed through mirrors.

2. Turning And intersections

Lack of judgment when approaching intersections

If you lack judgment when approaching intersections then 10 points will be deducted from your score. The supervisor will judge you in this section through your discernment of stopping, turning, and observing the signals. Here, you can regulate and modify the speed, when taking a turn be slow, decelerate when coming to a stop, look out for pedestrians, cyclists, and drivers, and also give attention to signals and signs.

While waiting to make a left turn, I failed to stop near the center of the intersection

10 points will be deducted for the same. To avoid this, when you’re waiting to make a left turn keep your wheels straight this prevents your vehicle from going into the ongoing traffic if hit from behind.

Turning a wide short right 

5 points are reduced. Make to give a right turn signal and make sure to turn in the lane that is nearest to the right-hand curb.

Turning a widshort left 

As above even here 5 points will be decreased if you forget to give a left turn signal, forget to check both the lanes before turning, and if you enter the right lane.

Ignoring traffic signals, signs, and lane markings

10 points are lessened if you seem to ignore either of these three. Kindly pay heed to resist getting negative marking for the same.

3. Packing, Backing, And U-Turn

Failed to give a signal

Driving too slow

15 points will be reduced if you are too slow to drive in the city traffic. You must stay within the speed limit because if not then you may impede traffic flow.

Inadequate Steering Control

If the test supervisor feels that you lack control of your steering wheel then he will deduct 15 points for the same.
