Family Dollar has more than 7,800 stores across 46 states in the United States, and Family Dollar had $25.51 billion in revenue.

ii. 99 Cents Only Stores

As the name implies, this company sells products for 99 cents or less. This makes them a big competitor to Dollar tree. It’s based in California and was founded by Dave Gold in 1982. It also has more than 14000 stores in Texas, Arizona and Nevada and has a revenue of over 27 billion dollars. 99 cents only stores sell retail various merchandise such as accessories, groceries, beauty products, health products and pet care.

iii. Walmart

Walmart is a multinational retail company based in Arkansas, United States and has 10,566 stores and clubs in 24 countries, operating under 48 different names. Walmart was founded by Sam Walton in 1962. It has a revenue of 559 billion dollars in October 2021. Walmart stores sell discounted products such as household supplies, groceries, clothing, cleaning products and pet supplies.

This is an American retail company with over 18,000 stores in the country. Founded in 1902 by George Dayton at Minnesota

Target sells products such as electronics, jewelries, beauty and health, toys, furniture and games. With total revenue of 99.6 billion dollars in 2021, Target is one of the most popular retail stores in the United States.

v. Dollar General 

Dollar General is an American retail corporation founded by James Luther Turner and Carl Turner in 1939. It is headquartered in Tennessee and has over 18,000 stores in the United States. Dollar General sells beauty and health products, groceries, cleaning supplies, toys, and many more.

Dollar General has a revenue of over 27 billion dollars and has continued to be a popular discounted store.

vi. Lidl

Big Lots has about 1,400 stores and it has made over $5.32 billion in revenue, which makes it one of the biggest competitors of Dollar Tree.

ix. Five Below

This is a discount store company that sells items under five dollars including electronics, household supplies, beverages, cleaning supplies, games and many more. Its services are aimed at teens and tweens. 

Five Below has more than a thousand stores in the United States and has made well over 1 billion dollars in revenue.
